Richard Moreta
Principal
Richard Moreta Castillo was born in New York City. He lived and studied for his Bachelor’s Degree and his Master’s Degree in Architecture and Design in the Caribbean (Santo Domingo), the U.S., Germany, and in Italy. In Italy, Richard studied under Alessandro Guirreiro at the “Futurarium” Master in Design (Ref. Politecnico Di Milano). He received his Master dottorato in Milan in 2002. Richard became a Member of the “Studio Radiosity” (Ref. “Studio Menphis” / Guirreiro, Mendini & Ettore Sottsass) design movement that led the way, and so shaped events, in the area of design in the eighties and nineties. After his work with HOK (Hellmuth, Obata+Kassabaum as an airport and entertainment designer) and Studio Radiosity, Richard “Katharsis4Design” in Germany in 2003. Upon moving to Miami in 2004, he started working with Bernardo Fort-Brescia at ”Arquitectonica” and later acting as a Design Director for various firms at South Florida.
Richard is the Architect Designer and Team Leader for development of hospitality, high end residential, aviation, public, residential, industrial and commercial complex facilities at GMZ Design. He interacts with people from the contracting, project scheduling, financing and marketing sectors of the industry. Richard also works as a consultant to corporate clients based in Europe, Florida, and the Caribbean. For over the last 15 years, he has had an extensive background in Design and Construction, working in continental Europe, Africa, Asia, Caribbean, and the U.S.
He has lectured throughout the United States, Europe and the Americas and has taught in several institutions as "Visitor Professor" in the US, Europe and the Americas.
The work of Richard has been published in local and international magazines even Hospitality Design, US; Aeroflt, Rusia; PM Perspektive, Germany; Abitare, Italy; Kenchi Bunka, Japan, magazine of HOUSE; South Beach and other, he also received the Prize of "AIA Excellence in Design" for his design work "Vertropolis" in Dubai. Richard is a member founder GMZ, a group of architectural designers recognized with offices in New York, Miami and San Francisco, Berlin and the Caribbean.

Alex Zulas
Principal
Alex Zulas received his professional degree in architecture from ITESM in 1999 and received his Master of Science in Architectural Studies with specialty in Design and Computation from MIT in 2004. Alex started his career by working for Curtain Wall Design and Consulting (CDC) in Dallas from 1999-2002, in parallel he developed small projects as an independent design consultant in its home country Mexico. In 2004 he moved to New York City where he joined the Aviation Design Team at Corgan Associates Architects. Alex is co-principal of GMZ representing the group in the tri-state area of NY, NJ and Connecticut.
